[SQM] Italy : BuioMetria Participatory

Hello All,

A very interesting project in Italy started by Giubbilini Francesco and
Andrea Giacomelli involves many people collecting light pollution data
since early 2008. They are raising awareness of light pollution by
lending SQMs to people who are not the typical SQM users.

Giubbilini and Andrea are using their background in Geographic
Information Systems (GIS) and database management to manage all the
measurements using a database server and other GIS tools. This also
allows them to conduct spatial analysis and other data processing tasks.

Recently, they have released the first version of a query interface, where
users may filter the data according to a combination of numerous parameters
(location, time, atmospheric conditions etc), generating simple statistics
and with the possibility of downloading customized data sets.
